About Janet Nelson

Janet Nelson is an early childhood educator based in Minnesota. Originally from Kenya, she brings a deep appreciation for diverse cultures, languages, and traditions to her work with young children. Her debut children's book, My Friends Around the World, was inspired by her personal journey of moving to the United States and her passion for helping children feel seen, included, and connected — no matter where they're from. Janet lives in Minnesota with her husband and their two sons.
